Congressional Democrats are continuing to resist bipartisan negotiations over the Biden administration’s infrastructure proposal.
“It’s not $800 billion compared to $2.3 billion,” said Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA). “I think we should move forward with our bill.”
When Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) was asked if she supports bipartisanship on the measure, she replied, “Absolutely not. Because we might lose our coalition for human infrastructure.” She told
Politico her interest in ramming a partisan bill through Congress via a mechanism called budget reconciliation.
“I do not think that the White House should relegate recovery to the judgment of Mitch McConnell because he will not function in good faith,” said Gillibrand, who believes bipartisanship is “a terrible political misstep.”

Golly, isn’t that what Rand Paul’s been accusing him of for months, wearing a mask after gaining immunity for show rather than for some valid scientific reason? “If you have immunity, they’re theater,” Paul said to him about masks during testimony in March. “If you already have immunity you’re wearing a mask to give comfort to others.” To which Fauci replied, “I totally disagree with you.”

Based on this clip from this morning, it sounds like he didn’t totally disagree with Paul after all.
Dr. Fauci admits his wearing masks indoors despite being vaccinated was based on imagery, not science:

The vice president flew on Air Force Two to Los Angeles for Easter weekend, then to Oakland, her hometown, for events the following Monday. As Harris strode down the stairs, the angle of her head and the pace of her step deliberate, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis started a round of applause. Kounalakis was still gushing when I caught up with her by phone a week later. “She carries the mantle of this bi

The effort to strike a bipartisan deal on infrastructure will continue this week, as Republicans are readying a counteroffer, two congressional committees will hash out how to pay for it all and lawmakers are jockeying to get their wish lists inserted into a final package.
Following last week s White House summit between President Biden and top GOP senators, Republicans say they could have an infrastructure counteroffer soon.
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), who is leading talks for Republicans, described the meeting as very positive.
