Georgia Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler were forced into runoff elections, which will take place January 5
If Democrats are able to flip both seats, the Senate will be split 50-50 with a Democrat vice president holding the tie-breaking vote

Top negotiators reported progress on a long-delayed COVID-19 aid package after a rare meeting of Capitol Hill s four most senior lawmakers.
The quartet, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell, said they would reconvene Tuesday night in hopes of sealing an agreement soon.

Pelosi, D-Calif., spoke with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin for more than an hour, her office tweeted, and Mnuchin will join the make-or-break meeting of Capitol Hill’s “big four” leaders by phone.
