Washington, Dec 20 (efe-epa).- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday announced that he had reached an agreement with Democratic lawmakers to approve a new economic stimulus package valued at $900 billion to help alleviate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, which is surging in the United States.
“More help is on the way,” said McConnell on the Senate floor of the Covid-19 relief bill approved earlier in the afternoon.
“Moments ago,” McConnell said, “the four leaders of the Senate and the House finalized an agreement. It will be another major rescue package for the American people.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS NEWS) -Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday said Democrats and Republicans have âfinalized a dealâ on a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package. Itâs unclear when they will vote on it, although the government is set to shutdown if a deal is not reached by midnight.
âAs our citizens continue battling this coronavirus this holiday season, they will not be fighting alone,â McConnell said Sunday on the Senate floor.
