(CNSNews.com) - Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) gave a speech Saturday at New York’s Cannabis Parade and Rally and sent out tweets marking the celebration.
“It’s the Cannabis Parade and Rally in New York City,” Schumer said in one tweet. “This year, we finally equitably legalized marijuana in New York.
“And I won’t stop working to end the federal prohibition on marijuana and undo the harms of the War on Drugs,” he said.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer appeared at a Manhattan seafood eatery on Sunday to urge restaurateurs to apply for the soon-to-launch $28.6 billion federal restaurant relief program.
“Our purpose here is to tell the restaurants of New York, ‘Get ready, help is on the way,’” the New York Democrat said at Crave Fishbar in midtown.
The restaurant relief program, part of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package signed into law last month, will let restaurant owners apply for grants to cover coronavirus-related losses from last year and this year. The maximum grant for an individual restaurant is $5 million.

Restaurants were some of the hardest hit businesses during the pandemic, and now New York s senior senator says there is money that could help pay some bills.
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer is urging restaurants owners to apply for emergency funds that are part of the American Rescue Plan - which is about to launch.
He says $28 billionh as been set aside for restaurants to help pay for pandemic-related bills. Rust and Gold owner Frank Antonetti says he s excited about the plan and hopes it keeps more restaurants from folding.
