Published May 18, 2021 4:04pm The Senate has already vaccinated 73% of its employees against COVID-19, Senate President Vicente Sotto III announced Tuesday. “As of today, the Senate has all the employees vaccinated at 73 percent. In other words, 73 percent of the Senate employees are already vaccinated, for the record,” he said during the day s session. Sotto said the remaining 27% who were not yet vaccinated include some senators. “The 27 percent includes some of us. The 27 percent who are not vaccinated yet because ang usapan natin huli tayo. Some of us will be vaccinated this week or this weekend,” he said.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III has expressed to Beijing’s Ambassador to Manila Huang Xilian his willingness to convince the Philippine government to partner with China to jointly explore the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

“I will encourage my government to start with the exploration in the area, if you want to be partners with us, sabi ko (I told him), you talk to the President. If not, we can explore with other countries, other investors,” Sotto told Huang.

Senator Panfilo Lacson could be losing a grip of reality for proposing cuts in “humungous congressional insertions” tagged by the Department of Budget and Management as “For Later Release (FLR)” in order to address funding the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines for this year.
This was raised Thursday, May 13 by House Minority Leader and Abang Lingkod Partylist Rep. Joseph Stephen “Caraps” Paduano as he chided the senator for proposing the re-alignment of funds.
Paduano said Lacson should “do some reality check on his proposed realignment of budget” that was originally intended for infrastructure projects being pushed by congressmen.”

I m a jet skier and I knew that it was not possible,” Sotto said in a text message. Meanwhile, detained Senator Leila de Lima slammed Duterte anew for “fooling the Filipino people” in 2016. Duterte s campaign in the 2016 elections was waged on pure gimmickry with no solid program of government on which to anchor his outlandish promises that s why all we can hear now are his excuses why he cannot execute,” Duterte’s staunch critic said in a statement.
