Tony Perkins: Libs Infrastructure: a Bridge to Nowhere — The Patriot Post

If arts funding is “COVID relief,” then it’s no surprise that child care is “infrastructure.” In the Democrats’ lexicon — where abortion is “health care,” election reform is “racism,” and social justice is a “public works” project — the fact that Joe Biden is trying to reimagine another word to fit his agenda is just par for their delusional course. The Left played this same trick on the American people in February, Cameron Hilditch warns, shoe-horning every radical priority under the sun into “coronavirus response.” Politically, it’s very “clever,” he agrees. Practically, it shouldn’t stand a chance. More Americans are wise to the Left’s scam now, as evidenced by the massive blowback Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) got for tweeting “Paid leave is infrastructure. Child care is infrastructure. Caregiving is infrastructure.” Conservatives had a field day with the idea

Senator Gillibrand calls on FDA for a harmful food preservative | 870 AM 97 7FM News Talk WHCU

Photo: WHCU ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Senator Kirsten Gillibrand calls on the FDA to investigate potential immunosuppressive additives in foods. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (source provided) TBHQ is a preservative used to extend the lives of popular foods such as Pop-Tarts, Rice Krispies Treats and Cheez-Its. A recent study from the Environmental Working Group says this preservative could harm the body’s immune system. Senator Gillibrand has asked Susan Mayne, the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition director, to reassess the food chemicals being put into food and how they can affect the body. She worries for the long-term effects these chemicals could have on generations of children who ate them.

No, Senator Gillibrand, Childcare Isn t Infrastructure (But Rush Tells Us Why She Said It)

Apr 8, 2021 BRETT: Oh, infrastructure has become quite the hot potato coming out of Washington, D.C. I noted with a great deal of laughter last night as we saw Senator Kirsten Gillibrand come out and redefine what infrastructure is. She got a lot of pushback. They described it as child care (and child care and child care) and a number of other things, right? We saw all these redefinitions of infrastructure, and it’s happening because of the way the bill as proposed is beginning to be rolled out, right? We’re told that the internet is infrastructure. People are infrastructure. Child care is infrastructure. If it can be harnessed or utilized, you could just call it “infrastructure,” and it’s an interesting battle that’s forming here.

Mid-Day Digest

Thomas Gallatin Joe Biden is expected to reveal his planned executive actions on firearms today. According to reports ahead of his announcement, Biden will specifically take aim at requiring background checks for the sale of a new bogeyman — so-called “ghost guns,” or firearms without serial numbers that are often homemade. Is this just tinkering around the edges, or is he getting a foot in the door for something bigger? The so-called “ghost guns” category is intentionally vague terminology that creates an impression of illegality, similar to the erroneous “assault rifle” designation. Biden’s order would classify 80% lowers, components sold separately without serial numbers, as firearms. By classifying them as such, a buyer would be subject to a background check. But Biden hopes for an essential ban on the sale of these “ghost guns.”
