Honk and wave rally thanks Senator Rachel May for co-sponsoring Climate and Community Investment Act
The CCIA would raise $10-$15 billion per year over the next ten years, and be paid for by a fee on corporate pollution. The money would then be used to find solutions to control pollution and climate change in New York.

Clinton, NY On Wednesday, more than 25 community members and climate activists lined East Park Row in Clinton.
They were there for a “Honk and Wave” rally to thank Senator Rachel May for co-sponsoring the Climate and Community Investment Act.

New legislation from Senator Rachel May would allow for nursing home residents to have designated caregivers to help decrease feelings of isolation.
Governor Cuomo signed May’s bill into law this week. She has been hearing about the agony families have been through in the past and how hard it’s been on nursing home residents.
“People were refusing to eat. They were showing very marked cognitive decline. They were depressed. They were not thriving.”
May says getting families in to see their loved ones was really a life-or-death issue. She says people were putting their loved ones in Hospice care much earlier than they normally would have just so they weren’t alone.
