Revenue from operations rose 24.7% to ₹14,705 crore, it said in a statement. For FY21, the firm posted a profit before tax of ₹1,277 crore against a loss of ₹3,016 crore in the year-earlier period. However, better operational performance together with inventory gains on account of increase in crude and product prices has helped to overcome the above challenges. The average gross refining margin (GRM) for the period April to March 2021 is $7.14 per barrel as against negative GRM of $1.18 per bbl during 2019-20, it said.

Image Source: IANS News Chennai, April 27 : Tamil Nadu government has been working closely with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to augment the Oxygen production and to divert it to the health facilities across the state. The Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) has installed a capacity of 1,400 normal cubic metres per hour (Nm3/hour) of Oxygen. The CPCL is however producing only 800 Nm3/hour and to increase the production it has to install a compressor. This will take a couple of weeks for the plant to become fully operational.

The officials after consultations with experts in production of Oxygen are of the opinion that even if industrial oxygen is used for health purposes, it will take a minimum of three months for converting the machines for producing oxygen required for health from industrial oxygen.
