Sempra Energy : SoCalGas Launches 2021 Fueling Our Communities Program to Support Disadvantaged Communities in Los Angeles County

Message : Required fields LOS ANGELES, April 12, 2021 /PRNewswire/  Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) in conjunction with eight regional charity organizations today launched the 2021 Fueling Our Communities program to help feed individuals experiencing food insecurity. This year s program will provide free meals, groceries, and restaurant gift cards to thousands of individuals from 20 underserved communities across Los Angeles County. The program, which is funded by a $325,000 donation from the utility, will also help stimulate local small businesses and is expected to last through the spring. The first event under this program was hosted over the weekend at Compton s Woodley Airport. SoCalGas, the Human Services Association, Assemblymember Mike Gipson, and Compton Councilwoman Tana McCoy, partnered to provide meal kits, groceries and gift cards from local restaurants to community members in need. Sempra Energy to Sell Noncontrolling Stake in New Business Unit to KKR for $3 37 Billion

By Dave Sebastian Sempra Energy said it has agreed to sell a noncontrolling 20% stake in Sempra Infrastructure Partners, Sempra s new business unit, to KKR & Co. for $3.37 billion in cash. The transaction values Sempra Infrastructure Partners at about $25.2 billion, including expected asset-related debt at closing of $8.37 billion, Sempra Energy said Monday. The deal is part of a series of transactions laid out in December to simplify Sempra Energy s non-utility infrastructure investments under one self-funding platform, the company said. Sempra Infrastructure Partners will focus on North American LNG export infrastructure, natural gas infrastructure and renewable energy, the company said in December. KKR will be acquiring the indirect stake in the Mexican energy unit IEnova at $4.13 a share, Sempra said.

Sempra Energy : SoCalGas Offering Funds to Purchase Near-Zero Emission Trucks

By Stephen Nakrosis Southern California Gas Co. on Tuesday said it was opening its annual initiative to provide funding that can help fleet owners within its operating district purchase near-zero emission vehicles. The company said through its Carl Moyer program, fleet owners can receive incentive funds that will help them replace diesel trucks with new near-zero emissions natural gas trucks. Approved fleet owners can apply to receive up to $100,000 towards the purchase of new natural gas trucks and compressed natural gas fueling stations, the company said, adding the application period will run through June 1. SoCalGas said since 2018, it helped customers with incentive funding for 409 near-zero emissions heavy-duty trucks and 34 Compressed Natural Gas fueling stations through its Carl Moyer Program.
