LONDON: The UK government has told Pakistan that it has no idea at this stage when Pakistan will be taken off the travel Red List as Britain continues to work on its own programme to open up the country on July 19 to normal pre-Covid situation.
The News understands from sources in both the UK and Pakistan governments that the matter of Pakistan’s Red List travel ban was discussed when Prime Minister Imran Khan held talks with Lord Tariq Ahmed of Wimbledon, Minister for South Asia, who visited Pakistan last week.

ISLAMABAD:
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday expressed its concern over the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the country and directed the provinces to ensure strict implementation of the coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Eidul Azha.
The NCOC, which met with Planning Minister Asad Umar in the chair, expressed its concern as the national tally of active Covid cases surged past the 34,000 mark on the back of more than 1,500 new cases registered during the last 24 hours, the highest single-day tally Since June 20.
