The country is “well prepared” against the more transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. declared Friday, July 16.

Galvez, vaccine czar and chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, said they have anticipated the entry of the Delta variant in the country “months ago” after an outbreak in India.
“Well prepared na tayo sa Delta. Nakita natin noong nagkaroon ng outbreak sa India that we have to prepare everything in large-scale (We are well prepared against the Delta. We have seen after an outbreak in India that we have to prepare everything in large-scale),” he said in a media breifing with experts from the Department of Health (DOH).

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said on Monday night, July 12, that all uniformed personnel specifically the personnel from the the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will be fully- vaccinated by next August this year.
Año issued the statement after getting assurance from vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez that uniformed personnel will be prioritized.
At present, Año disclosed that 50,567 PNP personnel got their first vaccine dose while 15,423 are fully vaccinated.

CAVITE – Governor Jonvic Remulla announced that 11 percent of its 3.1 million target population has already received the first dose of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine.
In a Facebook live update on Wednesday (July 7), the governor said that 368,560 vaccines have been administered while 91,392 individuals have already been fully vaccinated in the province as of July 6.
“Mabagal, kulang, pero wala tayong magagawa dahil DOH (Department of Health) naman is doing its best (It’s slow, it’s not enough, but we can’t do anything because the DOH is already doing its best), Remula said. “We can only give what we receive.”
