Local police have released the identity of a man who was shot and killed in a shooting in Reston late last week.
Santos Antonio Trejo Lemus, 40, of Reston, was shot and killed last Thursday in the 2200 block of Winterthur Court.
Although an autopsy on the exact cause of death is pending, police believe he died of gunshot wounds in the entryway of the apartment building. Police believe that Trejos was outside of the apartment building when an unidentified man began shooting at him at around 5 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was also injured, but police are investigating to determine if the injuries were caused by shrapnel or fragments of building material damaged by gunfire.

A 20-year-old Reston man has been arrested and charged with killing a former classmate from South Lakes High School, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police arrested Jalenn Maurtiece Keene on Friday night in the shooting death of Samuel Onyeuka. The 20-year-old was killed near the 2300 block of Branleigh Park Court after 2 p.m. on Feb. 11. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting, according to FCPD.
Keene was charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was arrested hours away in Newport News. Local police worked with the Newport News Police Department to coordinate his arrest. He was found based on a review of financial records and surveillance footage.

The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating three sexual assaults that happened over the last two weeks, including two incidents in Reston and Herndon.
In all the incidents, the suspect was described as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic male between 5’10” and 6′, police said. Police believe the man is in his 20s to early 30s.
In the first incident on Nov. 27 around 7:30 p.m., a man pushed a woman against a wall and assault her in the hallway of a hotel on the 13400 block of Sunrise Valley Drive. She suffered minor injuries and was able to call for help and run away.
