ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday announced that persons who have filed income tax returns after the due date or extended dates have to pay a surcharge for inclusion in Active Taxpayers’ List (ATL). An official statement of the FBR said the ATL for the tax year 2020 will be published on March 1.
The companies will have to pay a surcharge of Rs20,000 and Association of Persons (AoPs) and individuals (salaried and non-salaried) will have to pay a surcharge of Rs10,000 for inclusion in the ATL.
An official announcement said that the ATL is a central record of online income tax return filers for the previous tax year. ATL is published every financial year in March and is valid up to the last day of February of the next financial year.
