Mayor Evelio Leonardia (GLAZYL MASCULINO / MANILA BULLETIN FILE PHOTO) The additional bonus is part of the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte. The President issued Administrative Order No. 37 on December 8, 2020 authorizing local government units (LGUs) to grant a one-time SRI to government employees at a uniform rate of not exceeding P10,000, and shall be released not earlier than December 21.  In his order, Duterte said the administration recognizes the value and importance of government employees for their participation and contribution in the current efforts towards streamlining government procedures and in the delivery of public services. Those entitled to receive are employees who are occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions.
