Gunmen kill six-year-old girl, six others in fresh Kaduna attack

Some gunmen were said to have invaded the Gora Gan community in Zango – Kataf Local Area of Kaduna, killing seven people including a 70-year-old man and a six-year-old girl.
It was gathered that four among those killed during the incident which happened Thursday night were members of the same family.
Also, no fewer than 13 houses and two shops were razed by the gunmen who came in their large numbers and shot indiscriminately in the community about 8:00 pm.
Scores of persons sustained injuries during the attack.
A government statement confirmed and condemned the attack on Friday.

Following the killing of 7 natives in Southern Kaduna on Thursday night, Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’i of Kaduna state has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to take inventory of the damages incurred and provide relief materials to the Gora Gan community with immediate effect.
The security agencies carrying out internal security operations in parts of southern Kaduna have reported that Gora Gan community in Zangon Kataf local government came under attack on Thursday night.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, said on Friday that the security agencies, comprising the military and police, reported that Gora Gan community was attacked on several fronts, including the market area and houses stretching towards the Tudun Wada area of Gora Gan.

Seven people have been killed by gunmen in Gora Gan community, Zangon-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
One person was also injured, while 13 houses and two shops were burnt by the bandits.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when the gunmen invaded the community and opened fire on residents.
It was learnt that the bandits surrounded the community and shot sporadically as residents scampered to safety.
The Kaduna state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday in Kaduna.
“The security agencies carrying out internal security operations in parts of southern Kaduna State have reported that Gora Gan community in Zangon Kataf Local Government came under attack on Thursday night”, Aruwan said.

According to security update by the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Friday, the attack took place on Thursday night.
The names of those killed included a seventy-year-old Peter Akaho, Ayuba Steven Sheyin (67), Jummai Ayuba (55), Ishaya Joel (35), Yakubu Saviour (14), Ayuba Goodluck (11) and Patience Ayuba (6).
