The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning of dangerous winds of between 70 and 80 miles per hour in southeast Wyoming through Thursday.
93 MPH Wind Recorded In Laramie County At 11 a.m. Wednesday
A wind gust of 93 miles per hour was recorded in Laramie County at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
A spokesman for the office says the gust was recorded in the Laramie Range Foothills, about 11 miles west of F.E. Warren Air Force Base. By comparison, any wind of 74 miles per hour or more is considered hurricane force.

High Wind Warnings remain in effect through Thursday evening for Southeastern Wyoming and through Friday morning for the Nebraska Panhandle. Strong winds have already been recorded along I-25 and I-80. Winds Of 70+ MPH Possible In SE Wyoming Into Thursday

We can t rule out strong winds as early as this morning, but better chances for the stronger wind gusts after sunrise today. SE Wyoming Bracing For Blast Of Winter Weather

Southeast Wyoming is under winter storm warnings and advisories, with 12-inches of snow possible at higher elevations.
The agency posted this statement on its website on Monday, December 28:
Ready for some snow? You ll get your wish today as a low pressure system tracks into Colorado this afternoon and evening. Looking at snow beginning near the Colorado state line around 11 AM to Noon, spreading north through the afternoon. The most widespread and heaviest snow expected to fall after sunset today through early Tuesday morning. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges where 12-15 inches of snow is expected to fall. The I-80 Summit between Laramie and Cheyenne is in a Winter Storm Warning as well, for 4-6 inches of snow and strong southeast winds gusting to 40 mph at times.
