BOLTON locals have told how they are “living in total fear” as the deadly Indian coronavirus variant sweeps through the town, killing hopes of summer freedom.
The streets are empty and the area is turning into a “ghost town”, with people afraid to leave their homes after experts warned the Covid strain could cause 1,000 deaths a day.

TWO young children were rushed to hospital after potentially eating weed jellies in Dublin overnight.
The boys, aged three and four, were staying at a premises in Coolock, north Dublin, when they were believed to have consumed the sweets.

Emergency services were called to the scene and brought to Temple Street Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
Gardai say no arrests have been made but a person, not related to the kids, are helping enquiries.
The Child and Family Agency Tusla has also been informed of the incident.
