Earthquake tremors felt in these states including Assam, intensity 5 4

In Assam, Bihar, and West Bengal, strong tremors were felt on Monday. According to the National Centre of Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake was assessed as 5.4 on the Richter scale. According to NCS, the tremors were felt on the Sikkim-Nepal border at 8.49 pm. No damage has been reported in the earthquake. According to the NDTV report, the tremors were felt in Assam, North Bengal, and Bihar. In Bengal, tremors have been felt in Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Aliduarpur, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur, Malda. In addition, people in Bhutan and Nepal also felt shocks. Sources in the Government of India said that PM Narendra Modi interacted with chief ministers of all states to take stock of the damage caused by the earthquake. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has also spoken over the phone and inspected the situation. It is learned that the epicenter of the earthquake was 25 km east-southeast of Sikkim.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov s party wins poll

SOFIA: Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov s center-right, pro-European Union GERB party (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) won the parliamentary elections held during the weekend but fell short of an absolute majority. With 42 percent of the ballots counted, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reported that GERB had garnered 24 percent of the vote share, reports DPA news agency. There Is Such a People (ITN) party, headed by TV presenter and cabaret artist Slavi Trifonov, came in a surprisingly strong second place with 19 percent. The opposition Socialists came in third at nearly 15 percent, followed by the Turkish minority party DPS with 8.8 percent.
