COVID Vaccine Panama City: Bay County allotted 1,500 doses a week

The News Herald/ USA TODAY NETWORK The News Herald PANAMA CITY Bay County expects to get 1,500 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine each week for the foreseeable future, health officials announced on Saturday. The 1,500 doses a week allocation is based on the county’s population of seniors 65 years old and older, a Florida Department of Health in Bay County press release states. Currently, only residents in that age demographic and frontline health care workers can get the vaccine in the state.  The press release states that of the 1,500 weekly doses, 500 will be given to DOH-Bay and 1,000 will be allocated among the five Publix grocery stores in the county. Until now, amounts of the vaccine shipped to the county have varied.

During their investigation, detectives determined Prater had obtained the victim s checkbook, the press release stated. During the course of several months, Prater deposited more than $1,000 into her own account by writing at least five of the victim’s checks to herself and depositing them, police said. An arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 19.  Anyone having information in this case is urged to call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100.
