Lake Coeur d’Alene is one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the northwest. The North Idaho body of water is home to flora and fauna and is an important place in the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s culture. It’s also home to many vacation homes and folks from around the world visit the lake each year to enjoy it’s recreational opportunities.
But below the surface, there’s an environmental disaster that scientists say is looming. After decades of mining activity in the region, the lake’s bottom has a layer of dangerous sediment that’s settled after flowing from the mines. In the early 1970s, a group of Boston secretaries came together to improve the working conditions in their offices. Tired of low pay, lack of advancement opportunities, and constant sexual harassment, they created the group 9to5, which would eventually grow into a nationwide revolution that would change the American workplace for women.
9to5: The Story of a Movement captures this previously untold story of the feminist movement that solely focused on opening opportunities for working women both in boardrooms and in their closets. As women demanded regular salary reviews, written job descriptions, equal access to promotion opportunities, and benefits equal to men in similar job categories (women made 59 cents to every dollar,) some women also demanded freedom in their office wardrobes.

OLYMPIA, Wash. A bill that would immediately move the entire state to Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s Healthy Start plan got a hearing Wednesday in Olympia.
The Spokesman Review reports hundreds signed up and dozens testified in favor of Senate Bill 5114.
