Gbajabiamila, Niger, Kogi Govs Mourn Nda-Isaiah

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, says the death of the publisher of the Leadership Newspaper, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, is shocking and painful.   In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, yesterday, he described Nda-Isaiah’s passing as a loss of one of the committed pillars of the Nigerian media industry. According to him, his death came at a time that the services of the media are needed most to promote unity among Nigerians as well as the development and growth of the country. The speaker condoled  members of his immediate family, the management and staff of Leadership Newspaper, the Nigerian media industry, especially the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), over the loss.

Channels Television     The leadership and members of the National Assembly are mourning the Publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah, who died on Friday. In a statement signed by Ola Awoniyi, the Special Adviser (Media) to the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan described the death as shocking. He said: “Sam Nda-Isaiah fervently believed in the Nigerian project and this was reflected in his writings and the editorial focus and tone of his Leadership Newspaper. “His contributions as a public opinion-shaper and principled politician are profound and have put his imprints on the Nigerian history despite his early home call.”

Share Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN) has described as huge, the devastating death of Leadership Newspaper publisher, Sam Nda-Isaiah. NPAN in a statement signed by the President, Malam Kabir Yusuf and the secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Idris expressed their condolences. The statement reads: “The nation woke up this morning with the startling news of the death of one of the key investors in the Nigerian media, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, the Chairman and Publisher of Leadership Group of Newspapers. ALSO READ:  “His commitment to the values and objectives of the association was unflagging to the very end; he was together with the rest of us only last week in Lagos, when elections into the national executive council of the NPAN were held, and Sam was elected as an ex-officio member.”
