THREE people have been charged after drugs worth £4,000 were seized in Leigh. Two teenagers and a 38-year-old from Westcliff have all been charged after police discovered the drugs on Saturday evening. Harley Hamilton, 18, of Johnson Close, Wickford, has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and possession of a knife in a public place. A 17-year-old boy from Leigh-on-Sea has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and possession of cocaine.

A man who died outside his Essex home was stabbed a number of times to his abdomen, an inquest has heard.
Another week, more crimes come through the justice system. The magistrates courts have continued to process criminals through the system this week, with crimes including drink driving, assault and harassment. Here is a rundown of some of the criminals sentenced recently.
Roxanne Duke, 30, of Cheltenham Road, Southend, appeared in court after being caught in the town back on November 5, 2019. She was found driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Bournemouth Park Road, and following a breath test, was found to have 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which is over the legal limit. She appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court where she admitted the offence and using abusive words and was fined £100.
Man set to appear in court after woman and child were assaulted A man has been charged following an incident in which a woman and young child were assaulted. Officers were called to an address off Archer Avenue, Southend, shortly before 1.15am on Saturday, May 8. The woman and child did not suffer serious injuries and safeguarding has been put in place. Mohammad Dahir, 36, of London Road, Wembley, has been charged with two counts of assault by beating, making threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and criminal damage. He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
