Five men charged after warrants executed in Grays and Southend
Officers executed ten warrants across Southend and Grays yesterday morning, Saturday 10 April.
As a result, five men have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and conspiracy to supply Class B drugs.
They are:
-Jason Balding, 40, of Thames Close, Southend
-Daniel Deadman, 32, of Sherwood Way, Southend
-Mark Barrett, 42, of Glenwood Avenue, Southend
-Tony Carter, 39, of Albany Ave, Southend
Each of the men are due to appear in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday).

(Stock image) Revellers queue for a night at the famous Brentwood night club. Police have charged a man with attempted murder following a vehicle collision outside the club in 2017. A man has been charged with attempted murder after three people were stuck by a car outside a celebrity favourite night club. Three people were involved a in collision with a vehicle outside The Sugar Hut, in Brentwood High Street, at about 3.10am on Sunday, April 2, 2017. All three victims were seriously injured. The Sugar Hut is a nightlife favourite with celebrities, and featured heavily on hit ITV reality show The Only Way is Essex.
A STALKER has admitted putting his victim in fear of violence and is facing jail. On New Year s Day this year, Essex Police issued an appeal to find Marc Chapman whow as wanted over allegations of stalking. The 35-year-old of Melba Gardens, Tilbury, was arrested on Wednesday after being on the run for three months. He subsequently charged with stalking involving fear of violence. He admitted the charge at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court on May 6. The maximum sentence for stalking and putting a person in fear of violence is ten years in prison.
A DRIVER fatally struck an elderly woman he failed to see on a zebra crossing. Iris Sage was using the pedestrian crossing in Alma Link, Billericay, when she was struck by a Ford Transit van on July 29, 2019. Sadly the 75-year-old died in hospital later that evening. The driver, Lyle Wheeler, had taken a wrong turning and had planned to make a U-turn. But as he did so, he failed to see Mrs Sage, who was using the zebra crossing. He stopped and called emergency services and she was taken to hospital with head and leg injuries but sadly died despite the efforts of medical staff.
