Essex magistrates hear cases of biting cops and defecating in public

A CROOK biting a cop, a man relieving himself in public, and a host of speeding drivers - these are the magistrates cases in Essex this week. Justice has continued to be handed down to criminals in the lower courts this week, and a real variety of crimes have been heard. Here is a rundown of all the major cases heard at Basildon and Southend Magistrates Courts this week. Jane Aldham, 56, of St. Johns Close, Laindon, was clocked running a red light in Basildon on February 2 this year when driving her Mini One car on Broadmayne. The offence happened at 9.30am and Aldham was found to have gone through the red light 29 seconds after it turned red.

North Essex court: Man spat at officer and told him he had virus

A MAN who assaulted a police officer has been ordered to carry out unpaid work. Luke Moncur, 21, assaulted the officer in Jaywick on March 20. Appearing at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on June 21, he admitted one charge of assaulting an emergency service worker. Moncur, of Glebe Way, Jaywick, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and pay prosecution costs of £105. A CARELESS driver who narrowly avoided oncoming traffic has been hit with a hefty fine. Viktor Mirosnikov, 30, drove his Honda Civic in Ipswich Road, Colchester, in March, without due care and attention. Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard he overtook vehicles, narrowly missing oncoming traffic before almost hitting a bollard.
