December 02, 2020 1 1637 Quick Summary: The new claim type called Military Assist will provide wage replacement benefits to eligible Californians who need time off work for reasons related to the deployment of a spouse, registered domestic partner, parent or child to a foreign country.
Military families will be eligible for Paid Family Leave benefits beginning Jan. 1, 2021. California’s Paid Family Leave program provides up to eight weeks of partial wage replacement benefits to employees who take time off work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child.
