ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 20, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Marisa Butler of Maine has been named Miss Earth USA 2021 during the competition aired January 17 on the VIP Pageantry channel. The pageant took place at the Chapin Theater inside the Orange County Convention Center of Orlando. After the United States took home the most recent Miss Earth crown, Butler aims to give the United States a historical back-to-back win at the international competition.
Miss Earth
Age 27, Butler is a graduate of Stonehill College holding a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She was on the collegiate cheerleading, soccer and lacrosse teams and now works as a financial advisor. Butler also represented Maine at Miss USA 2016 and served as America s representative for Miss World in 2018.

Malika Yates, Elite Miss Delaware Earth, will represent the First State while competing for the national title of Elite Miss Earth USA 2021.
Malika Yates wants to bring a new title home to Delaware.
Named Elite Miss Delaware Earth in 2019 and 2020, Yates will compete for the national title of Elite Miss Earth USA 2021 on Jan. 17 in Orlando. During the event, the Miss Earth USA organization requires each of the U.S. state delegates to participate in their own community environmental projects along with a cleanup in partnership with Garbo Grabber and The Clean Earth Project. Contestants will be evaluated by a panel of judges on their leadership potential, communication skills, social media influence and modeling abilities.

The 20th Edition of Miss Earth 2020 was certainly not your traditional coronation. Carousel Productions, the organization behind Miss Earth, opted for a virtual ceremony last November 29, 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic across the countries. The competition began on September 21, 2020 with 84 candidates vying for the much-coveted title.
All 84 candidates were split into four continental groups: Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania, and Europe. This 20th Edition was historical as it was the first virtual staging of any pageant in the world. It was a wise decision not to skip this year’s search. It gave Miss Earth further credibility and that even in the midst of a crisis, it was resilient, and it was able to cope with the challenges through the creative use of technology.
