G-Body Oldsmobile Cutlass Flexes 24-Inch Gold Wheels, Flashy Interior

G-Body Oldsmobile Cutlass Flexes 24-Inch Gold Wheels, Flashy Interior 30 Apr 2021, 12:13 UTC · by Like many GM cars, the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was downsized in the late 1970s. Despite retaining the old A-body platform, it had lost a few good inches from the wheelbase even before GM switched to the G-body layout. And it looked a bit too much like the Buick Regal and Chevrolet Monte Carlo to stand out. However, the fourth-gen Cutlass gets credit for being the last of its kind to feature rear-wheel drive. 1 photo More than 30 years later and the boxy Olds is becoming some sort of 1980s classic. Granted, it s not as popular with classic car collectors as it is in the hi-riser scene, but that s better than being a forgettable, underpowered G-body. And this trend spawned a few cool Cutlass donks, too, including this late 1980s green-over-gold example.

It does away with such norms, carving its own path that s as unapologetic as they come. 7 photos For starters, we re dealing with a 1972 car here, the final hurrah of the first-gen model, which, as the sales numbers from back in the day show, was the most popular.

Rare Chevy Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe Gains 24-Inch Wheels, Looks Like a Restomod

Rare Chevy Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe Gains 24-Inch Wheels, Looks Like a Restomod 28 Apr 2021, 9:50 UTC · by Produced from 1980 to 1987, the fourth-generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo was a typical G-body car. It shares a boxy exterior with other GMs, such as the Buick Regal and Oldsmobile Cutlass, and it looked very similar to Ford s Fox-platform vehicles too. However, Chevy rolled out a limited-edition Aerocoupe model that looked a bit different. 1 photo As the name suggests, it was a more aerodynamic version of the Monte Carlo. Based on the SS, it featured a more deeply sloped rear window, a shorter trunk lid, and a redesigned rear spoiler. Overall, it looked much sleeker than the standard, boxy Monte Carlo.
