CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. Frustration and anger are the two primary emotions Chesterfield resident Kathy Heath feels right now. I ve been trying to get information for my parents so that they may be vaccinated, Heath said.
She lives in Midlothian and thought her parents, who are in their late 70s and have underlying health conditions, would be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine under phase 1b.
But, every time she calls the Chesterfield Health District to sign them up she can t get an answer. Getting an answer to a call on that hotline is next to impossible, Heath said. I ve been on hold for 2.5 hours on more than one occasion.

Chesterfield County only received 1,000 vaccines from the state Monday, a small fraction of its original request. According to a staff email from Chesterfield Superintendent Merv Daugherty. Chesterfield schools will only get 750 doses, forcing the district to adjust its vaccination efforts.
The email says the Chesterfield Health Department initially ordered 8,000 shots and expected to receive at least half of that, but instead they only got 1,000. CCPS surveyed staff to gauge interest ahead of ordering the vaccines.

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Chesterfield County Public Schools told its teachers and staff that there has been a delay in vaccinating most employees due to supply issues with the COVID-19 vaccine.
CCPS said the Chesterfield Health District placed an order for 8,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine last week.
School officials said the county government estimated that at least half of that order would arrive this week, so vaccination clinics for Cohort No. 1 and elementary school staff members were planned.
