Riverside Regional Jail rocked by inmate death Friday, its fourth in the past three years

PRINCE GEORGE Riverside Regional Jail says an inmate who died at the prison Friday morning had a series of medical conditions and had not been evaluated by doctors at the Chesterfield County Jail from where he was transferred.
For a facility that is already in the state s crosshairs for potential closure over previous deaths, the report of Friday morning s death could not have come at a worse time. An audit committee of the Virginia Board of Local and Regional Jails is recommending that RRJ be decertified because of three other inmate deaths and the inmates be referred back to the localities served by the jail for incarceration.

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia State Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection to a shooting on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield.
Arkell Browder, 18, of Petersburg, is charged with shooting from a motor vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges are in connection to the May 5 shooting on I-95 that was south of Route 620.
