CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - Due to the inclement weather, schools and offices in Chesterfield County will be closed on Feb. 19. All students will have asynchronous learning day Friday. Asynchronous learning opportunities have been/will be provided by a studentâs teacher(s).
Staff will also be working remotely on Feb. 19. Meals distribution sites for students will resume on Feb. 23.

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - The Chesterfield County Public School alert came out at 7 p.m. Sunday alerting parents there will be no in-person or virtual learning Monday.
With road conditions as they are, the division said in an email blast to parents that leaders do not believe it is safe to bring in approximately 8,000 employees to teach from school. In Chesterfield, many secondary and neighborhood roads are in good shape.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. Approximately 22,000 people have signed up to be placed on the Chesterfield Health Districtâs COVID-19 vaccine waiting list, according to Emergency Planner David Woods.
âYou see how many of your folks want vaccinated,â Woods told the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors during a vaccination update on Wednesday.
The sign-up form was activated on Monday after an admittedly rocky start for vaccination efforts in the county.
âThe lists of tasks we have to address is growing literally every day, much of which is a function of having been thrown into this rather quickly,â Chesterfield Health District (CHD) District Director Dr. Alexander Samuel explained during the presentation. âEvery health district right now is overwhelmed with calls.â
