BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) It is Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This year marks the 40 th year that we have celebrated the annual strides made on behalf of crime victims, the Deschutes County District Attorney s Office said Wednesday in announcing three recipients of an award honoring those who assist crime victims in exemplary fashion. This year’s theme embodies the challenges felt not just in Deschutes County, but by communities across the Nation: Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities. The award winners this year exemplify this theme through their support to victims of crime, their actions to help build trust, and the steps they have taken to assist engaging our community.

Redmond man killed in crash that injured two Prineville residents April 07 2021 A Redmond motorist died in a two-vehicle collision that injured two Prineville men Tuesday morning. Redmond Police Department (RPD) reports that shortly after 8:15 a.m., personnel from RPD and Redmond Fire and Rescue responded to the crash, involving two pickups, south of Northwest Sixth Street and Northwest Quince Avenue. A preliminary investigation determined that 79-year-old Redmond man Archie Carrol was driving a black 2000 Toyota Tundra north on Sixth Street, just north of Oak Tree Lane. His vehicle crossed the roadway and collided with a blue 2004 Ford F150, which was traveling south on Sixth Street.  Carrol died at the scene of the accident.

Aaron Wells of the Redmond Police Department. “(The alleged victim) had a clear recollection of the sexual encounter. She told friends, went to the extent of seeing a doctor and was clear communicating to DeMars and others she did not want (the sexual contact).”
