Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has insisted that the violence in parts of the country were sponsored by those he described as aggrieved politicians.
He also asked politicians in the country to take responsibility as the government makes effort to tackle the security challenges in the country.
“I have said this times without number that the crisis that is happening today in Nigeria is sponsored,” said the governor who was a guest on
Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.
He added, “I don’t want to pre-empt the investigation that we are carrying out currently but at the end of the day, when the report is ready, Nigerians will know the truth.

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari has banned the traditional Tashe activities conducted during the month of Ramadan.
In a statement by the Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Home Affairs, Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirikathe, the ban which is coming barely 15 days after the commencement of the Muslim fasting follows some security reports that warrant it.
The state government also directed security operators in the state to arrest anybody found violating the directives.
The commissioner drew the attention of the General Public mostly parents on the need to control and guard their children not to undertake the Tashe activities across the State.
To effectively tackle the numerous security challenges facing the country, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force need more motivation and funding to boost their morale.
This is according to a former Commissioner of Police and Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, who disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s
Politics Today on Wednesday.
While noting that the morale of police officers is low, Ojukwu called on the Federal Government to ensure that the Force is properly equipped with both men and materials.

On Monday, the major opposition party held its zonal congress, where Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, a candidate backed by the camp of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, emerged as the party’s new South-West Zonal Chairman.

The PDP held its zonal congress on April 12 where the candidate backed by the camp of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja emerged as the party’s new South-West Zonal Chairman.
Arapaja polled 343 votes to defeat Dr Eddy Olafeso, a loyalist to ex-Governor Fayose who scored 330.
But reacting to the exercise during an interview on Channels Television’s
Politics Today on Wednesday, Fayose said he conceded and accepted the outcome not because the process was transparent, but because the PDP must not lose its quest to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in the South-West.
