Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, has expressed concern over the increasing bandit’s activities in the north.
The governor said his main concern about banditry in the country is its effects on food security.
He said this barely 12 days that 344 students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara were abducted in Kastina.
The students were later released about one week later.
Speaking during Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bello wondered why bandits burn farmlands and kill animals.
Bello, who is Chairman of the North-Central Governors’ Forum, said, “My main concern on this issue is about food security. When they kidnap you for ransom, you say they do that for money. But why burn farms? why kill animals? So, I really want the Federal Government to look into this.”
