When upgrading to a new version of Windows 10 (for example, the May 2021 Update), the installation process makes a backup of the previous setup to undo the changes in the event of a compatibility problem or critical error moving to the new version.
The only caveat with this safety mechanism is that even after the upgrade is completed successfully, the files will be kept, and they can take a large amount of storage in the Windows.old folder. Removing the previous installation files can help reclaim around 20GB of space, which can be significant for laptops with limited capacity.

Pennsylvania-based Storage Asset Management, known as SAM, has an effective marketing strategy. Unusually, however, the company isn’t really striving to market itself.
“We are actually guilty of not doing a great job of marketing ourselves. All of our growth has been from word-of-mouth and referrals. We don’t actively market ourselves as best we could.” That’s what Melissa Stiles, VP of marketing and sales at SAM, told us. But that growth has been quite tangible, from launching with 22 management contracts in 2010, to running almost 350 contracts today.
Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 21376 with a new font for better scaling
Build 21376 comes with an updated UI font, and other cosmetic tweaks.
The updated font, Segoe UI Variable, includes an optical axis that lets font outlines scale seamlessly from small to larger display sizes. This also means better legibility at small sizes. Advertisement
Microsoft explains:
Historically, fonts for printing small text were designed differently than fonts designed for large display text. Segoe UI was originally designed to work at 9pt, which makes it a great font for that size, but limits expression at large sizes and lacks legibility at even smaller sizes. Segoe UI Variable solves this by using a new version of Segoe that uses variable font technology to dynamically offer great legibility at very small sizes, and style at large sizes.
