Background information
Arranging safe and orderly movements of refugees and other vulnerable migrants is a cornerstone of IOM’s Constitutional mandate. The Resettlement and Movement Management (RMM) Division directs, oversees and coordinates IOM’s resettlement work and movement programmes, negotiates and maintains the Organization’s global agreements with air carriers, trains movement staff, administers various funds and mechanisms to support stranded migrants and refugee resettlement, backstops complex and emergency movement programmes and provides guidance and support to the Organization’s Field managers.

The impact of environmental and climate change and is relevance to migration has yet to be fully explored in Ukraine and requires further action to inform strategic policy and operational actions.
In Ukraine, the effects of climate change are already perceivable, with increased record high temperatures year on year. Impacts from climate change make Ukraine increasingly vulnerable to droughts, high temperatures, heat waves, heavy precipitation, mudflows, and floods. Background information
IOM Uruguay is a young, dynamic mission in expansion. It works closely with the Government of Uruguay, civil society, the private sector and the United Nations agency in Uruguay in several thematic areas. As of February 2021, the mission includes about 40 colleagues engaged in different areas and in three geographical locations.
The internship is in the Resources Management Unit, which coordinates the areas of Human Resources, Administration, Procurement, Security and Finance, under the supervision of the Resources Management Officer.

Côte d’Ivoire became an IOM Member State in June 2000. IOM Côte d’Ivoire falls under the purview of the IOM Regional Office for Central and West Africa in Dakar, Senegal. Its main activities are in the areas of emergencies and post-crisis operations, migration health, immigration and border management, migrant assistance, and labour migration.

Background information
IOM has been operating in Sudan since 2000, contributing to the Government of Sudan’s efforts to facilitate and manage migration effectively while upholding the human dignity and well-being of migrants, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and returnees.
In September 2019, Sudan began a new chapter as it began the process of transitioning to an open democracy. Since the revolution and the creation of a transitional government, there have been many changes, especially in the areas of politics, development opportunities, domestic economic and social reform, and humanitarian access.
