On the same day his nominee for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Alejandro Mayorkas, was confirmed, President Joe Biden signed several Executive Orders regarding immigration, including one that directs complete review of policies.
The first, “Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans,” is of particular interest to the business community. The search for the next vice president for student life has begun with the appointment of a search committee chaired by Mark Alnutt, director of athletics.
The search is seeking a successor to A. Scott Weber, who left the position to assume the role of provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Christina Hernandez has been serving as interim vice president.
The search committee, appointed by President Satish K. Tripathi, includes UB senior leadership, faculty, staff and students.
