ISLAMABAD: The capital police will deploy 2,400 personnel at mosques and imambargahs for security during Eidul Azha congregations.
Police teams have also been deployed at cattle markets and for patrolling the area around them, officers of capital police told Dawn.
They said approximately 80,000 to 100,000 animals come to the main cattle market of the capital, adding that the police would remain on high alert on Eidul Azha to avert any untoward incident.
The officers said armed guards and policemen would be deployed at 990 mosques and 33 imambargahs in Islamabad during Eidul Azha congregations.

Islamabad: Islamabad police have issued a security plan for the cattle markets and the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha so that no untoward incident takes place during the Eid days.
The officials said on Monday that over 2,400 personnel of local police would perform duty at the Eid congregations to be held at mosques and imambargahs in the city. SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has said that protection of life and property of the citizens is the priority of the police. He said that the police would ensure security of the homes, especially of those intending to go to their native villages to celebrate the Eid.

Islamabad : Islamabad Khanna police team has arrested a gang of four criminals who have been found involved in several snatching and street crime incidents in the city.
The police also recovered snatched motorbikes, mobile phones, digital cameras and weapons along with ammunition from them.
According to the details, SSP (Operations) Islamabad police, Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer had categorically directed all the Zonal SPs to accelerate their efforts to arrest the accused involved in street crime and snatching incidents and recover the looted items.
