Daily Mirror, which broke the story, “Under [former Labour leader Jeremy] Corbyn those from the far-left fringes with poisonous beliefs and warped world-views were welcomed into the party. Keir [Starmer, the current Labour leader] is right to stamp out anti-Semitism and toxic extremism and get the party back into the decent mainstream of Labour values… We need to be fighting to form the next government and that means cleaning out the stable.”
Labour Against the Witchhunt was founded in October 2017 and Labour in Exile in February 2021 to campaign against the suspension and expulsion of left-wing Labour members. They call for a reversal of unfair suspensions, for Labour to drop the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition equating opposition to Zionism with anti-Semitism, and for the democratisation of the party.

U.S. hands off Cuba, Haiti!
Protesters marched through
Portland, Oregon’s Saturday Market July 17 chanting “U.S. Out of Cuba! Hands Off Haiti!” They joined progressives around the world who are protesting U.S. attempts to destabilize Cuba. The Portland activists handed out informational leaflets condemning the U.S. Congress for recently adding $2 million to the more than $20 million Washington spends trying to instigate counterrevolution in Cuba.

Atlanta branch of Workers World Party issued a call to several progressive organizations, proposing they join together to organize a rally July 17 in support of revolutionary Cuba and the popular resistance in Haiti. Members of many groups responded and demonstrated under the slogans: “End the U.S. blockade of Cuba Now!” and “No U.S. intervention in Haiti!”

The Socialist Equality Party urges workers to vote “No” to the rotten sell-out agreement Unite the union is seeking to impose on 300 workers at Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) Banbury plant.
JDE workers have reacted furiously to Unite’s proposed deal with the global coffee company, which will slash annual pay by up to £10,000, axe penalty rates, force workers onto night shift and lengthen the working week. “The Banbury 300 are furious,” a JDE worker told the
World Socialist Web Site yesterday. “Everyone is angry and feeling betrayed by Unite.”
Workers at the factory have already begun to campaign for a “No” vote in balloting that is due to start on July 26.
