A 69-year-old woman was walking her poodle in a public park in Northern California in late November. She was not wearing a mask.
She walked by groups of people who were.
A police officer, meanwhile, monitored her movements from the security of his squad car.
As she moved past the park into a middle-class neighborhood, he clandestinely trailed her. She walked past other people who were also out for strolls sometimes coming within three or four feet of them.
Being friendly neighbors, they nodded and smiled.
The gay former Sebastopol mayor who was arrested on charges of sexual assault of a minor is now free on $620,00 bail following a hearing April 15, when the Sonoma County District Attorney s office added four additional counts to the initial charges.
Robert Jacob, 44, is represented by attorney Chris Adrian, who did not return the Bay Area Reporter s phone call at press time.
Jacob is expected to enter a plea at his next hearing May 6, according to the Sonoma County Superior Court website.
According to the DA s office, Jacob now faces three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with underage persons and one count of procurement of a child. Those are in addition to the original three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with underage persons; one count of contact with a minor with the intent of having sexual contact; one count of distribution of pornography; one count of sexual penetration with an object; and one count of procuring a child under 16.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors rescinded its approval of Dominic Foppoli’s appointment to the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District in a unanimous vote Tuesday, the latest rebuke of the Windsor mayor following allegations of sexual assault.
The California Attorney General’s Office would prosecute any potential criminal charges against the mayor of the wine country town of Windsor, who has been accused of sexual assault by six women.
