CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Trial Court Vacancy Commission is accepting applications for a Circuit Court Judge in the 19th Judicial District, which covers Montgomery and Robertson counties. This vacancy was created by the appointment of the Honorable Jill Bartee Ayers to the Court of Criminal Appeals – Middle Section.
Qualified applicants must be licensed attorneys who are at least 30 years of age, have been residents of the state for five years, and are residents of the 19th Judicial District. Interested applicants must complete the Trial Court Vacancy Commission Application, which is available at www.TNCourts.gov, and submit it to the Administrative Office of the Courts by noon CDT on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Six people have applied for a vacant circuit court judgeship in Tennessee.
The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will consider the applicants for the position that covers Montgomery and Robertson counties. Judge Ross H. Hicks is retiring in July, creating the opening.
The applicants are Carl Daniel Brollier Jr., chief deputy assistant district attorney general; Nathaniel Ray Flinchbaugh, senior associate general counsel in the Tennessee Department of Health; Adrienne Gilliam Fry, private practice attorney; Gregory D. Smith, municipal court judge; M. Joel Wallace, private practice attorney; and Joseph P. Weyant, private practice attorney.

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse, located at One Millennium Plaza in the Commission Chambers.
Interested individuals, including any members of the public, may attend the public hearing in the Commission Chambers of the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse. The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9 a.m., during which anyone may express their opinions in opposition to any of the applicants.
All visitors who want to attend the hearing at the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse must check-in with building security, provide a valid government-issued ID, mention that they are present to observe the Trial Court Vacancy Commission Public Hearing and follow all building-mandated COVID-19 protocols for admission to the building.
