NEW YORK (AP) How have Hollywood and Broadway responded to an exposé detailing routine abuse and bullying by producer Scott Rudin? Mostly, with crickets.
The Hollywood Reporter’s cover story Wednesday on Rudin was, undoubtedly, a must-read for anyone in the film, television and theater businesses. Stories about a Hollywood heavyweight throwing glass bowls, staples and baked potatoes at underlings are hard to put down.
The trade publication spoke to four former employees who agreed to be named on the record to detail stories about the toxic work environment, in addition to some who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. One former employee describes how Rudin was irate after an assistant couldn’t get him a seat on a sold-out flight. He allegedly smashed a computer monitor down on the assistant’s hand hard enough to send the assistant to the hospital. Another described a glass bowl being thrown near an employee, prompting a panic attack from a human

“The HR person left in an ambulance due to a panic attack.” That’s just one haunting revelation from The Hollywood Reporter exposé published today about mega-producer Scott Rudin. Rudin is an EGOT-winning fixture of Hollywood and Broadway with hundreds of hit shows and movies under his belt, but he’s also infamous in the industry for his alleged incredibly abusive behavior towards those that work with him. And it reminds us how in so many industries, bosses and workplaces like this are accepted.
“Everyone just knows he’s an absolute monster,” reads the headline, and what follows is an incredible account of what those involved say were decades of workplace abuse. According to the reports, Rudin hires staffers fresh out of college, almost all under 25, and abuses them with impunity. Hundreds of people have cycled through his offices and allegedly been subjected to screaming, harassment, and physical violence. He reportedly sent a

When it comes to long-running action movie franchises, James Bond and Mad Max may initially come to mind, but anyone who s a fan of explosions, car chases, and copious amounts of bloodshed needs to put some respect on the name of the
Sniper series. Starting in 1993 with a theatrical release starring Tom Berenger as master assassin Thomas Beckett, who s sent on a mission to Panama to take out a dangerous rebel leader, the series has spawned seven sequels that have all gone direct-to-video. Berenger s no longer the one picking up the scopes, as that honor has gone to Chad Michael Collins, who has portrayed Thomas son, Brandon, for the last five
