Somerset County officials announced an investigation into a shooting that may have occurred in the area of Hamilton Street in the late evening hours of Monday, May 31, in Franklin Township.
Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson stated that on May 31, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Franklin Township Police officers were dispatched to an area hospital for a wounded victim that was reportedly shot while in the area of Hamilton Street in Franklin Township.

A 28-year-old Plainfield man was on his way to work at UPS when he was struck and killed by a tractor trailer that fled the scene around 2 a.n. in Bridgewater, authorities announced.
Robert C. Cepeda had gotten off an NJ Transit commuter bus on the westbound side of Route 28 with two co-workers when he was struck near Chimney Rock Road while walking across an intersection toward a nearby convenience store, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.
The trailer was brown or red and heading eastbound, and slowed down but failed to stop at the scene, Robertson said alongside local and county authorities. Instead, the truck continued onto Route 287 south, authorities said.

BRIDGEWATER - A 28-year-old UPS worker from Plainfield was killed on Route 28 early Thursday after being struck by the cab of a tractor-trailer, which fled the scene.
Police are trying to locate the driver who struck Robert C. Cepeda, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Cepeda had just gotten off an NJ Transit commuter bus about 2 a.m. along with two other co-workers and was on his way to work at the UPS facility on Route 28 and Chimney Rock Road.
Cepada was walking toward the 24-hour Wawa across Route 28 when he was struck by an eastbound brown or red truck cab with no trailer attached, Robertson said.
