Man traveled from California to N.J. to have sex with 14-year-old girl, authorities say

A California man was arrested last week after traveling to New Jersey in December and twice having sex with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
Justin R. Ganutan, 22, was taken into custody in his hometown of Stockton, California and charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
Ganutan and the girl met online before he came to Franklin Township, officials said. Authorities found out about Gantuan after receiving a CyberTipline report.

A 2-year-old child has died after he was hit by a truck Saturday morning in Somerset County.
A 60-year-old Somerset man was backing up his pickup truck to leave a home on Bennetts Lane in Franklin Township when the child was struck around 8:45 a.m., according to township police.
Arriving officers performed life-saving measures until EMS personnel arrived to take the child to a trauma center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Franklin Township Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Beginning in October of 2020, as part of a joint initiative conducted by the FBI and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, Dave Adamovic, 48, of North Bergen, began chatting on various application platforms with an undercover detective whom he believed to be 14 years old, Robertson said in a statement.
Adamovic’s chats became sexual in nature and throughout the course of the investigation made arrangements to travel to meet the undercover detective to engage in sexual intercourse.
