Community groups, not-for-profit sporting bodies, school P&Cs and even councils can apply for grants of $2,500-20,000 as part of a Federal program designed to help the region recover from a horror 2020. in the Blair Stronger Communities Programme.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said round six of the Blair Stronger Communities Programme presented an opportunity for groups across Ipswich, the Somerset Region and Karana Downs who may be eligible to apply for up to 100 per cent of their project costs.
“We know it has been a tough 12 months or more and that is why eligible organisations may be able to receive up to 100 per cent of their project costs,” he said.

Since the pandemic began, state border closures have been a moveable feast as COVID-19 outbreaks have heated up and simmered down across the country.
Monday saw three local cases recorded in Greater Sydney, while Greater Brisbane s three-day snap lockdown to stop the spread of the UK COVID-19 variant will be lifted at 6:00pm local time.
Following this, several states and territories have changed their border measures, with some downgrading Greater Brisbane from a COVID-19 hotspot.
Of the six cases to 8pm last night:
One is linked to the Berala cluster, and is a contact of a previously reported case. There are now 21 cases in the Berala cluster.
Five cases were acquired overseas.
As announced yesterday, the NSW Government has put in place a new Public Health Order to ensure anyone entering NSW from the Greater Brisbane area follows ‘stay at home’ rules.
Under the Order, anyone entering NSW by any mode of transport from the City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Lockyer Valley Region, Logan City, Moreton Bay Region, Redland City, Scenic Rim Region, and Somerset Region must go directly to their home or place of accommodation in NSW, and remain there until 6pm on Monday, 11 January 2021.

IPSWICH residents with poor mobile phone reception can bring about change by reporting black spots to the Mobile Black Spot Program.
The program has provided new towers at Moore, Somerset Dam, Jimna, Esk-Hampton Rd (Redbank Creek), Kholo and Mount Crosby, which are all on air providing 3G and 4G services.
The South Ripley and Mount Kilcoy towers are due to be on air by mid-2021.
The Linville tower construction is due to start in 2021.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said it was important for the community to have a say on where the next mobile base stations are located, now that applications have opened for the next round of funding.
