Solano’s daily Covid case rate nearly doubles day after big dip

FAIRFIELD The Solano County Public Health Division reported 39 confirmed coronavirus cases Wednesday, nearly twice as many as the 20 reported Tuesday.
The uptick in cases continues the roller coaster reporting in a month that has had five days with numbers below 30 and seven days above 50.
The total in the county rose to 32,086, the county reported.
The number of residents hospitalized climbed to 29, up one, and active cases also saw an increase to 377, up from 368. The number of deaths attributed at least in part to Covid-19 held at 212.

Rio Vista Airport hangar serves as Covid-19 vaccination clinic
RIO VISTA More than 300 individuals received Covid-19 vaccinations in an unusual clinic location Wednesday – inside a hangar at the Rio Vista Airpor.
The Travis Air Force Base Fight Training Center, also known as the Travis Aero Club, opened up its hangar to the Solano County Public Health Division.
“It’s about the size of a high school gymnasium, a little larger,” Dan Sarna said of Hangar No. 3020. He has been the Aero Club manager for about three years. “It’s large enough to hold 10 aircraft.”
FAIRFIELD Solano County remained one of 17 counties that are in the red tier while California as a whole looks more and more orange.
Thirty-seven counties are in the orange tier, including Solano’s immediate neighbors: Yolo, Napa, Sonoma and Contra Costa counties. Sacramento and San Joaquin
