1. NearForm take top prize at Waterford Business Awards
NearForm was named Overall Waterford Business of the Year at the Waterford Business Awards this lunchtime by Mayor of Waterford City & County, Cllr Damien Geoghegan, during a live virtual awards ceremony. The multi-national company also picked up the Technology & Innovation of the Year award during the streamed event and is the second time the Tramore-based company has won the top prize, collecting it first back in 2016.
2. Breakdown of Covid-19 cases shows decreases in most areas in Waterford
Dungarvan was the only local electoral area in Waterford which saw an increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 last week. 58 cases were confirmed during the two weeks ending on Monday, February 22nd, which is up from 40 a week before and is a jump of 45 per cent. Waterford City South continues to have the highest level of the virus active in the community

Dolphins and Whales spotted in Portally
In November, Colm Gallagher, Harry Power and Odhran Power witnessed quite the spectacle from their rib, two miles off Portally. Two fin whales and a pod of dolphins appeared from the water and we’re only delighted Odhran took his phone out and recorded it all!
