The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is planning a couple of volunteer stewardship days at state parks next month. It says volunteers will remove garlic mustard plants from Warren Dunes State Park on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No experience is necessary, and everyone is advised they’ll be working off trail. Those who attend are told to wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. Also, bring along work gloves. Due to COVID, registration will be required to take part and social distancing guidelines will be followed. The next stewardship day will be at Saugatuck Dunes State Park on Sunday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They’ll also remove invasive garlic mustard. Same rules apply. To sign up, email LeslieE1@Michigan.gov or call 517-242-8760.
