G.O. 2 violates spirit of 73rd Amendment of PR Act: Thulasi Reddy
APCC working president N. Thulasi Reddy on Saturday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of trying to debilitate the panchayat raj institutions.
In a statement, he said after the Panchayat Raj Act (73rd Amendment) came into force on April 24 in 1993, the States were allowed to take steps to organise village panchayats and give them powers to function as units of self-government.
“But G.O. 2 issued by the YSRCP government on March 25 this year violates the spirit of the Act and the 73rd Amendment,” Mr. Thulasi Reddy argued.

The Telangana government has not responded so far to the Central government’s proposal to set up a Sainik school in Warangal.
Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik stated this in Parliament to a question from Nalgonda MP and TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Chevella MP G. Ranjit Reddy.
Mr. Uttam Reddy said that the Defence Minister revealed that the Ministry has accorded “in-principle” approval and signed the Memorandum of Agreement on March 2, 2017, for opening of the Sainik school at Warangal District. Thereafter, there has been no response from the government of Telangana, till date.

AICC spokesperson, Sravan Dasoju has claimed that the government was afraid of a debate on the jobs given after the formation of Telangana and alleged that the recruitment list released by the TRS working president, K.T. Rama Rao as false and fabricated .
Mr. Sravan turned up at the Telangana Martyr s Memorial at Gun Park along with other Congressmen after challenging KTR to come for a debate on the jobs. You have disappointed the Telangana youth by abstaining from the debate, he said.
Mr Sravan argued that even the leaders from the United Andhra Pradesh who were blamed at the peak Telangana movement seem to be better than the present government. Former Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who opposed Telangana, alone had filled 1.10 lakh jobs and Congress issued job notifications in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2013 and filled about 1.50 lakh jobs, he claimed.
