Darshan starrer Robert, which was released on Thursday, has got the biggest opening since the lockdown, raising hopes of a revival of fortunes in the Kannada film industry. The first big commercial film to hit the screens post lockdown was Pogaru on February 19, weeks after the State government allowed 100% occupancy in theatres on February 1. However, not all theatres were open at the time, and for the most part, the public was also wary of going to theatres.

A dozen circles will undergo beautification which will also enable smooth flow of traffic Bengaluru is getting a facelift. After 42 fountains that will come up in the city to reduce air pollution, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike ( BBMP) has decided to beautify 12 major traffic junctions. This too, will be designed with form and function in mind – to add to the aesthetics of the traffic junction while also giving you a visual lesson in history and also provide for easy movement of traffic. Recently, the BBMP beautified ITC Windsor Circle at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore. “The BBMP has identified 12 traffic junctions. Designing of these circles is in progress. The objective of beautification of these junctions is to enable movement of vehicular traffic without any hassles. Efforts will be made to increase the aesthetic appeal of each traffic junction,’’ said Gaurav Gupta, BBMP Administrator.
