Joe Biden Spending $1.6 Billion to Settle Migrant Youth, Children in U.S. 14 Apr 2021 President Joe Biden’s deputies have awarded contracts worth up to $1.6 billion dollars to help foreign children and teenagers settle in the United States. The one-year contracts signed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) include a contract worth up to $530 million to Family Endeavors Inc. starting March 17, a contract worth up to $719 million with Deployed Resources Inc. starting March 19, and a contract worth up to $198 million to Rapid Deployment Inc. The contracts were first noted by Axios. A Breitbart search on a government database produced more hits, such as a $13.6 million contract for Southwest Key Programs Inc. Another contract worth up to $103 million went to General Dynamics Information Technology Inc.

The process to certify milCloud 2.0 for classified use is underway and on track to be ready to go this summer, according to General Dynamics Information Technology, the contractor that supports the program.  Jim Matney, GDIT’s vice president and general manager for the Defense Information Systems Agency and the enterprise services sector, told Nextgov in an interview Tuesday that approval for one location of the Defense Department’s on-premise cloud offering has already gone through. Once a second facility receives approval, milCloud 2.0 will be on track to receive a third-party assessment.

Government agencies lean into managed services to stay ahead of IT demands SPONSORED CONTENT (Getty Images) Apr 7, 2021 | FEDSCOOP Seismic shifts in technology solutions and a need for modern IT and security skills are prompting a sizeable portion of federal agencies to bring in managed service providers (MSPs) to advance their IT needs, according to a new survey of federal agency IT, business and program executives. Two in three respondents in the survey, conducted by FedScoop and underwritten by GDIT, say their agency is currently using, planning to use or considering retaining an MSP to support their IT work. Though the reasons driving agencies to use MSPs vary, one key undercurrent lies in the pressing agency need for cost efficiencies, relying on MSPs with experience deploying cloud, data and cybersecurity solutions.  At the same time, the reasons to work with MSPs have grown more nuanced in recent years.
